PICNIC & BRAAI SITES IN TABLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Remember fires are only permitted in designated braai areas. Braaing may only be undertaken with care and may prohibited on windy days due to the danger of wild fires. Please don't litter, feed animals or pick flowers. Visitors are asked to please take only photographs and leave only footprints.
Oudekraal picnic & braai area is between Camps' Bay and Llandudno. Alcohol is prohibited at Oudekraal. Newland's forest picnic and braai site is off the M3 freeway between Rondebosch and Claremont. Deer Park picnic site above Vredehoek has spectacular views of the city. Dogs are allowed but no fires. Schusterskraal is a small braai area behind the sand dunes of Scarborough beach. Dogs are allowed. Perdekloof picnic and braai site is just past Scarborough on the way to Cape Point. Ablutions. Wildschutsbrand is alongside Perdekloof. Buffels Bay and Bordjiesrif are both on the beach in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. There is safe swimming for children in the tidal pool. Be warned that resident troops of Chacma baboons are attracted by food. Catapults are used to deter baboons. Silvermine picnic and braai site is among the most spectacular lunch venues in the Park and is situated on the banks of the reservoir. A universal boardwalk provides wheelchair access to a picturesque trail around the reservoir that takes about 25 minutes. Tokai picnic and braai area is situated on the edge of the Tokai Plantation, centrally located, spacious and shaded by pines.
