CULTURAL LIFE AT CASA LABIA
An Italian palazzo built in 1929 to reflect the spirit of 18th century Venice, Casa Labia is the former Muizenberg residence of Prince and Princess Natale Labia. In the honour of Prince Natale Labia’s love of and great support for the arts, the Labia family launched the Casa Labia Cultural Centre in May 2010, after a 2 year restoration. The house is run as a multi-functional cultural centre which includes the South African Print Gallery, Cucina Labia Restaurant and The Venue.
Casa Labia offers a programme of events including lectures, art classes, music concerts, poetry readings and book launches throughout the year. Please see the Cultural Programme on their website.
The Cultural Centre is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10h00 to 16h00.

Casa Labia offers a very unique conference and meeting space to you and your delegates.
Casa Labia is a truly unique property in South Africa and offers so many different vistas and themes to the film and photo shoot industry. Whether it be the resplendent, art-filled reception rooms recreating a by-gone era of European opulence, or the clean modern lines of the gallery space, the manicured lawns and formal garden space. All of the above can be framed by the glorious False Bay coastline, with the Hottentots Holland mountains in the distance. There is no other venue in South Africa that can offer such a wide variety of themes for film and photo shoots.
Andrea and Oscar Foulkes and their team from Dish Food & Social, are managing Cucina Labia as well as catering for the many events held here.
Cucina Labia is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday 11h00 to 16h00 and Saturday to Sunday 09h30 to 16h00 and makes an ideal venue for brunch, lunch, elegant afternoon tea or a simple cup of very good coffee.
Every Saturday and Sunday between 13h00 and 16h00 we are joined by the talented pianist Jean-Paul Grimaldi-Lasserre. His diverse repertoire ranges from classical music to popular modern works. His interpretations of various compositions bring classical styles to a wide spectrum of people for easy listening, regardless of their usual taste in music.
Occasionally we close to host private functions. To avoid disappointment and in order to plan ahead please view the calendar under Cultural Life.
THE SA PRINT GALLERY
The South African Print Gallery has recently established a permanent space at Casa Labia, and will be selling a wide range of Investment prints, as well as Heritage and Design prints for all tastes.
