Come and have a picnic on the lawn and listen to some of the best South African music on offer. Unique fynbos, succulant garden and natural forests provide an endless place of exploration for both young and old. Two routes up Table Mountain are accessible from Kirstenbosch, Skeleton Gorge and Nursery Ravine - PLEASE get the Peter Slingsby "Map of Table Mountain" if you are to attempt climbing Table Mountain - be properly prepared to hike - see "hiking tips" on this site.
On Tuesday every week free admission is given to South African pensioners who present an ID book for admission.
Daily tours of the gardens take place at 11am, (no extra charge after your admission payment).
You can also tour the gardens in a "golf cart" which can seat 5 adults, please phone to book as these guided "golf cart" rides are a popular way of viewing the extensive paths and views of the huge gardens.
World-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the indigenous flora displayed in a magnificent setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Don't leave Cape Town without visiting the "Largest Garden in Africa" - every day is different as the mountain changes with the seasons. Family picnics are welcome on the lawns, no bikes or dogs allowed.
